On the way down south, we stopped in Port St. Lucie to visit with Mike and Becky in their new house, which they got for a steal and are fixing up. They have a huge grapefruit tree in their yard loaded with fruit. I brought home a big bag full. Here are the big guys in Mike's workshop.
We met up with the gang on Sunday to watch football at CJ's. The Giants are killing me in the pool! Of course, Sergio had a few comments about overtaking me in the playoffs. Beginner's luck! :-)

Went shopping Monday with Karen, then connected with Sue, Kim and Linda for a girls night out at P.F. Chang's. Good food, good drink, great company.
Karen and I went to see Sweeney Todd on Tuesday. I really liked it; probably more than Karen did - I think it was too bloody for her. My only complaint is that the movie didn't address what happened at the end to his daughter and her boyfriend, nor the shop boy Toby. Did the original Broadway production?

We headed down to Key Largo for a couple of days on Wednesday. where as usual, I took 5000 pictures. You'd think I'd have enough Keys sunset pictures after all these years. Wednesday afternoon was calm and a little overcast.
Thursday, we woke up to a thick fog and didn't see bright sunlight until about 2pm. The wind that blew off the fog and clouds hung around and the bay was quite choppy, but not enough to keep us from canoeing around the bay. I wanted to kayak, but I didn't want to get wet. The water temp wasn't too bad, around 75*, but it was so windy it would've been freezing once you were out of the water. I got in the canoe first, then Steve, and I had flashbacks to our Catawba river trip and Scott, Debi and Isabel tipping their canoe right off the dock. Being the wise guy that he is, Steve rocked it a little but I don't think he really wanted to get wet, either. Here's a video from later that afternoon. The wind pretty much drowns out what Steve is saying, but the gist was how great it was to be there.

If you have the patience to sit through all 54 of them, let me know which ones you like and why. One of these days I really need to take a photography class.
It was great to see all my Florida pals. I will always feel at home there.

Dude,
Looks like a fun trip. Would you watch my kids for a week so Debi and I can take a trip like that?
I checked out your photos. Here are my thoughts:
1 - Wouldn’t say I LIKED it exactly, but the picture of Sergio groping his imaginary breasts was interesting.
3 – Great beach photo w/ no people. Could be a stock photo. The lighting was PERFECT.
4 – Ditto.
6 – Could also be a stock photo. Again, great lighting.
7 & 8 – If you hadn’t told me it was him, I’m not sure I would have recognized Mike w/ the gray beard.
9 – She should not be allowed to compute under the influence!
10 - Caviar?
11 – Were you drunk when you took this or was it just bad lighting?
13 – Ok, I said those others could be stock art, but they were crap compared to this one. BEAUTIFUL. You should blow it up & frame it (matte though, not glossy). Maybe print it on canvas?
14 – Love it. It evokes a peaceful, almost somber mood.
16 – Those glasses look too small for his head.
17 – You have a foot fetish.
22 – Another good one. Almost looks like the calm before (or possibly after) a storm.
24 – Perfect lighting again.
25 - Love the clouds in this one.
26 – Another great picture. The composition is very similar to 14, but with this lighting it evokes a hopeful, energetic mood.
27 – Love this one too. Makes me want to have a bowl of chowder.
30 – I almost expect a Russian sub to emerge from the water.
37 & 38 – Great except for the lens flare. When shooting in bright light a lens hood will prevent this problem. However, most point & shoot digital cameras don’t allow you to connect such devices. In a pinch, you could just shield your lens with a book, magazine, hat, etc. (just like if you were shielding your eyes).
39 – A very good bird picture if you like birds. Birds are ok; I don’t have anything against them, I’m just not big on bird photos.
40-49 – Each beautiful on its own merit, but it's a great series. Would be interesting to frame 3 or 4 them together. Maybe every 3rd picture or so (I like 40, 43, 46, 48).
53 & 54 – is that a UFO (unidentified floating object)?
Thanks for sharing your pics!
