Cabin Update

The mason fairy finally made a trip to the cabin. We have half of a finished fireplace and hopefully the rest will be done this week.

The radiant floor heat tubing is all installed under the main floor, and Burleson Heating and Plumbing is bringing up the boiler and water heater this coming week. However, we won’t have hot water until our gas tank arrives, which will probably be next week, because this coming Friday, Burleson is sending up a track hoe to dig us a drainage ditch. The only logical place to put our gas tank is right by where a spring oozes water, and the area is really mucky. Nothing is ever easy up there. Of course, that area is a swamp!

The electrician is coming up this week to hang all the fixtures, trim out all the outlets and switches, and electrify the house. We’ve been running on extension cords from the main box.

Took delivery of kitchen appliances on Saturday. The microwave looked like it had been dropped, so had to reorder that. Everything else was fine and is sitting in the basement until the upstairs is finished. We went ahead and plugged in the refrigerator so we don’t have to go on ice runs for the coolers every day. We had to reverse the door on the fridge and almost dropped it on the basement floor. If I hadn't insisted that Steve did indeed need my help with that project, we would've had a damaged fridge as well.

Ordered the master bath vanity and faucets, and the faucet and sink for the kitchen.

Steve framed out the shower and we bought a neo-angle door to put on it. Tile guy will be up probably around the end of next week to do the shower and kitchen backsplash, and finish in the living room where the fireplace is.
