Cabin Update

The roof beams are all on and the shingles are waiting at the jobsite. The next step for the builder is to attach the SIPs to the roof beams, then shingle it. Also, I'm guessing that this coming week he'll do the rails for the porch (they're at the jobsite, too).
We were pleasantly surprised to find that we're getting a roof over our side porch, too. It wasn't on the plan, and I would not have been disappointed to not have one, but since a roof is being built there, we're happy about it.

Also, our builder is framing out the interior walls, which we didn't expect, but that saves us a lot of work and certainly helps us visualize the layout of the finished interior. It's one thing to look at a blueprint and another thing to stand in your rooms and look around. Our bedroom (below) is comfortably large, our master bath (bottom) is huge, and our closet is a good size. Our living room is not as large as I imagined, but our loft is ginormous.

Dude, a surprise roof on your side porch? Surprise interior framing? Is your contractor the construction fairy?
